— My artwork focuses on my own life as I transition from harder to softer spaces. Often it provides a contrast to my experiences in the world.
Red, Sky, Throw: Horizon
A Performative Exploration of an iPhone Camera Glitch
I developed a technique around a physical glitch within the iPhone camera. The subjects of these images are motion, color, form, and light/shadow. These appear as relatively abstracted, conceptual thematic explorations. The resulting photographs represent the play of finding something new and wanting to see where it could go.
The overarching title calls attention to performance. I am in motion as I capture these images. Themes emerge- characters appear, disappear, and reappear. Shape, hue, and texture repeat. Horizons are divided and reinvented.
Some of these images have been cropped. All of the color, shape, and composition are as they were interpreted by the technique.
Each of these sets has reached the market in zine form and as wall hangings. I am currently sold out of all, but anticipate doing a second round of printing in the near future.
